ARS, DTR Owner Named Delaware Business Times 2022 CEO of The Year

NEW CASTLE, Del. – (May 6, 2022) – Delaware Business Times announced today that Patrick Connell, president of ARS Truck & Fleet Service and Delaware Truck Refinishers (DTR) was awarded the title of medium-for profit business, 2022 CEO of the Year.

This award is presented to Delaware business leaders who are top-ranking officials at their respective companies. In total, seven awards are presented to businesses of different sizes and corporation type. Nominees for CEO of the Year must work in the State of Delaware and have served in their position for a minimum of two years. Connell has served as president and CEO of ARS Truck & Fleet Service since 1999 and has been with his family’s business in several capacities since 1987. In 2019, Connell acquired Delaware Truck Refinishers and has served as CEO for the past three years.

Since his career began, Connell has committed himself to creating profitable, organic growth through streamlined workflows, superior mechanical and industry knowledge, industry innovation and enhanced customer satisfaction. Under his leadership, ARS Truck & Fleet Service has ranked in ATI’s Top 12 National Automotive Shops five years in a row. In 2020 & 2021 the companies won ATI’s Best Service Sales and Connell personally is a two time winner of the Group 20 Member of the Year, an award nominated by his peers in the automotive industry.

As a committed member of his community, Connell has given his time and money to support causes and organizations close to his heart. He regularly participates in veteran causes such as Vet Fest, Wreaths Across America and Salvation of Sorrows. Connell also supports multiple groups that provide community meals and pantry services, including Sunday Breakfast Mission and Eating at the King’s Table. In addition to these external efforts, Connell holds a weekly barbecue for his employees and partners as a thank you to his staff and customers. He is dedicated to improving the lives of everyone who crosses his path because, as Connell says, “Dignity matters and it’s part of the solution.”
